During his career, Dr. Gottlieb has contributed to several articles published in peer-reviewed journals. He has also participated in the operation of clinical trials. He has significant experience treating patients, and he uses the knowledge he has gained to provide every patient with the best quality of care.
He also served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Miami School of Medicine for six years. Dr. Gottlieb is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and Florida Orthopaedic Society.

Hospital Affiliations

Dr Gottlieb currently resides in Miami, Florida with his family. He enjoys staying active and eating healthy to serve as the best role model he can be to his children. While he is not in the operating room or seeing patients, he is actively reading up on the latest updates in Medicine.
Jonathan Gottlieb, MD

About Dr. Gottlieb

Dr. Jonathan Gottlieb is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon serving patients in South Miami, Florida. He offers a number of services to his patients at Minimally Invasive Spine Center of South Florida, including treatment for spinal stenosis, back pain, radiculopathy, and much more.
Dr. Gottlieb earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Florida. He later studied medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. After graduating with his Doctor of Medicine, Dr. Gottlieb went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He completed a fellowship in spinal surgery at the Charlotte Spine Center.
Dr. Gottlieb is also part of the Board for the Children’s Bereavement Center (CBC), an organization that provides free Peer Support Groups for children, young adults, and adults after the death of a loved one. About Karina Gass, DPT, PA-C

Karina Gass completed her Bachelor’s degree as a collegiate basketball athlete at Reinhardt University. She later earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Miami, followed by her Physician Assistant degree from Miami Dade College.

Ms. Gass was born and raised in Miami, FL where she has had the opportunity to serve a range of diverse populations from D1 college athletes, retired NFL players to casual weekend warriors. Prior to working at Minimally Invasive Spine Center of S.Florida, Ms. Gass worked as a DPT at Select Physical Therapy as well as her own concierge physical therapy company.

As a result of engaging in a wide range of studies and clinical experiences as a DPT and a PA-C, Ms. Gass brings a unique passion and perspective to our patients.

About Jorge Lerma, ARNP

Jorge Lerma has been a Neurosurgeon for 25 years. After arriving to the US from Cuba, he earned his Master’s Degree and became an ARNP. Dr. Lerma is now working side-by-side with Dr. Gottlieb during all surgical procedures. He also consults patients and performs injections in the office. He is adamant about ensuring all of his patients’ questions are answered and that they feel secure in their treatment plan.
